anyone lived in a pretty how town
(with up so floating many bells down)
spring summer autumn winter
he sang his didn't he danced his did

Women and men(both little and small)
cared for anyone not at all
they sowed their isn't they reaped their same
sun moon stars rain

children guessed(but only a few
and down they forgot as up they grew
autumn winter spring summer)
that noone loved him more by more

when by now and tree by leaf
she laughed his joy she cried his grief
bird by snow and stir by still
anyone's any was all to her
someones married their everyones
laughed their cryings and did their dance
(sleep wake hope and then)they
said their nevers they slept their dream

stars rain sun moon
(and only the snow can begin to explain
how children are apt to forget to remember
with up so floating many bells down)

one day anyone died i guess
(and noone stooped to kiss his face)
busy folk buried them side by side
little by little and was by was

all by all and deep by deep
and more by more they dream their sleep
noone and anyone earth by april
wish by spirit and if by yes.

Women and men(both dong and ding)
summer autumn winter spring
reaped their sowing and went their came
sun moon stars rain

I Am the Wind

I Am the Wind

I am the wind that wavers,

You are the certain land;

I am the shadow that passes

Over the sand.

1

I am the leaf that quivers,

You, the unshaken tree;

You are the stars that are steadfast,

I am the sea.

1

You are the light eternal--

Like a torch I shall die.

You are the surge of deep music,

I -- but a cry!

Title:

The title of this poem is "I Am the Wind" Wind is nature that we can feel it when we are outside. Wind can go anywhere. Maybe poet want freedom or maybe want to be part of the nature.

Paraphrase:

I am the wind that shake, while you are the firm land. I am the shadow that goes through the sand. I am the leaf that shivers and you are the tree that does not shiver. You are a firm star and I am the moving sea. You are eternal light while I shall die like a torch. You are the deep surge of music and I cry.

Connotation:

Rhythm: "I am the ..." "You are the ..." These two phrases keep repeating and makes rhythm. Why? By repeating these phrases I can clearly see the difference between "I" and "You". Simile: Like a torch I shall die. Metaphor: "I am the wind...", "You are the certain land...", "I am the shadow...", "I am the leaf...", "You, the unshaken tree...", "You are the stars...", " I am the sea.", "You are the light ...", " You are the surge of deep music" This poet used metaphor in most of the lines. Why? Instead of saying it directly, it gives reader to think about what "I" or "You" would be. There are lots of possibilities being other things instead of directly saying what "I" or "You" is . Symbol: "I" represents the human while "You" represents the nature.

Attitude: Very weak

Shifts:

The shift happens in 7th line. From 7th line, instead of comparing from "I" to "You", poet compares "You" to "I". It gives slightly different mood to the reader.

Title:

"I Am the Wind" The meaning of title was totally different from what I have predicted in the beginning. Human is described as a wind, because human is never settled like wind.

Theme:

Even though we try to conquer the nature and even though this process is called the civilization, we, human are just weak creatures. We waver, quiver, move, and frustrate, but try it again, and again. And stand up for ourselves with hope, but there is barrier of power that we can not go through. We, human do not know the power of nature and we resist with no fear. The message of this poem would be instead of controlling over the nature, we should live along with the nature. Nature is mighty and we, human only exist inside the nature.

;;;;;;
Music I heard with you was more than music,

And bread I broke with you was more than bread;

Now that I am without you, all is desolate;

All that was once so beautiful is dead.

Your hands once touched this table and this silver,

And I have seen your fingers hold this glass.

These things do not remember you, beloved,

And yet your touch upon them will not pass.

For it was in my heart you moved among them,

And blessed them with your hands and with your eyes;

And in my heart they will remember always, --

They knew you once, O beautiful and wise.
This poem gives peace in my mind. First when I read this poem it was hard for me to understand this poem completely. But as I read it again it became more clear.
In this poem author ahs lost who is very important to him.
I wonder why the title is "Music I heard" becuae the peom doesn't mention about music except in the first line. However, the poem says that music is not a music with out you and bread is not a bread without you. Through this I realized that "you" was very importnat to the author. And the it is hard for author to forget about "you" First the poem was very confusing, but as I read it again it was very warm and peaceful poem.

;

I will be the gladdest thing

Under the sun!

I will touch a hundred flowers

And not pick one.

I will look at cliffs and clouds

With quiet eyes,

Watch the wind bow down the grass,

And the grass rise.

And when lights begin to show

Up from the town,

I will mark which must be mine,

And then start down!

Ma and God

Ma and God

Shel Silverstein

'
God gave us fingers---Ma says, "Use your fork."

God gave us voices---Ma says,"Don't scream."

Ma says eat broccoli, cereal and carrots.

But God gave us tasteys for maple ice cream.

God gave us fingers---Ma says, "Use your hanky."

God gave us puddles---Ma says, "Don't splash."

Ma says, "Be quiet, your father is sleeping."

But God gave us garbage can covers to crash.

God gave us fingers---Ma says, "Put your gloves on."

God gave us raindrops---Ma says, "Don't get wet."

Ma says be careful, and don't get too near to

Those strange lovely dogs that God gave us to pet.

God gave us fingers---Ma says, "Go wash 'em."

But God gave us coal bins and nice dirty bodies.

And I ain't too smart, but there's one thing for certain---

Either Ma's wrong or else God is.

TPCASTT
T-title: When I first read the title of this poem, I predicted that this poem is going to be about the comparison between ma and God. Or maybe ma learning somthing from God.
P-paraphrase:
God gave us fingers, but mom tells the child that it is there to use your fork, to use your hanky, and to put gloves on. God gave us coal bins and nice dirty bodies, but mom tells the child to wash them. God gave us voice, but mom tells the child that not to scream and to be quiet. God gave us raindrops, but mom tells the child not to get wet. God gave us maple ice cream, but mom tells the child to eat other vegetables. God gave us puddles, but mom tells the child not to splash and go near to those strange lovely dogs that God gave us to pet. In the end, the child conlcudes that even though she/he is not smart, but she/he knows that either mom or God is wrong.
C-connotation:
"God gave us "..."---Ma says, "..." This phrase is repeating in every first line. Also each paragrph has four lines with rhythems.
A-attitude: The author is a child who is innocent and very curious. The chid knows that ma or God is wrong, but the child is not sure. The child is confused with Ma's words and God's words, however she/he knows the difference between ma and God's words.
S-shifts: The tone shifts in the last paragrph. From first to third paragrph author is talking about the difference between ma's words and God's words that she/he have heard before. In the last paragrph she/he based on the previous paragrphs.
T-title: I believe that the title represetns the realization of the difference between Ma's words and God's words.
T-theme: The theme of this poem is criticizing the world that ignores the creativity, but only admiring the fixed form. However, we should realize what God have created beautiful things for us. We should admire nature and the original form of human.

Additional thoughts after reading this poem:
This poem is written by the author who wrote "The Giving Tree" I have enjoyed reading this book and luckily I have found one of his poem. This poem is criticizing the world that ignores the creativity, but only admiring the fixed form. For instance, adults gives up natural ways, insdead they admires the efficient way. These days people are only seeking for what is most fast and comfortable. However, we should realize what God have created beautiful things for us. We should admire nature and the original form of human. I have nevery realized these before until I read this poem. I truly enjoyed reading this poem. This is one of my best poem ever!

Time is..
'
Too Slow for those who Wait
'
Too Swift for those who Fear

Too Long for those who Grieve

Too Short for those who Rejoice

But for those who Love Time is not.

This poem is very short and everything is directly
written that there aren't many parts to analyze,
but it was very meaningful to me.
After reading this poem, I thought this poem was about
the time of the principle of relativity.
I love this poem especially fourth and fifth lines.
It is so true that I feel that time goes so fast when
I spend time with my family and freinds.
And also it is ture that I feel that time shas been topped
when I'm in trouble orin the hardship.
However, the last two lines were confusing to me.
What is time for those who are in love?
Maybe, in my opinion, it means that time is nothing
but a method for those who gives love and receives love.
